Tuesdays and Saturdays they have large outdoor markets which attract large crowds for both the retail stalls and the fresh fruits and vegetables from the local farms.
Also near Mahmutlar is one of the largest mosques in the district, its large domes and beautiful paintings are wonderful. Currently the town has worked hard and fast to renovate and enhance most of the main roads & walks in town. They have added wonderful wide side walks with wooden benches and matching litter bins all along the walk. The median lighting and landscaping is superb just as they already have in the center of the town and by the "Clock Tower". Turkey's favorable climate, archaeological sites and beautiful beaches make it a popular tourist destination, attracting around 20 million visitors per annum. As the Turkish economy continue to expand the possible membership of the European Union will further lift the economy. Ongoing government reforms are being introduced and the period of co-operation with business and overseas investors continues to develop to facilitate an ever increasing property market in Turkey. New mortgage law passed in February 2007 encouraged competition in the market by bringing down the interest rates and increased the homeownersip.
